You can see that not much of the brake pad was making real contact. Fortunately this was in the rear, which doesn&#8217;t take as much of the braking load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><a href=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_02.jpg?w=800\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"5177\" class=\"wp-image-5177\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><a href=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_03.jpg?w=800\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"5179\" class=\"wp-image-5179\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rust ridge on the inside edge of this rotor had built up so much it was actually grinding against the caliper bracket. Not bad enough to really damage it, but a good idea to change the rotors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><a href=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_04.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_04.jpg?w=800\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"5181\" data-link=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/2020_10_22_04\/\" class=\"wp-image-5181\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><a href=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020_10_22_05.jpg?w=800\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"5182\" data-link=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/2020_10_22_05\/\" class=\"wp-image-5182\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another classic case of an owner not paying attention as their brake pad wears away completely and falls out, leading to the caliper grinding down against the rotor.
