When you replace a broken part on a car with a new part, you don&#8217;t expect to be replacing it soon after.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5057\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/2020_08_17_01.jpg\" alt=\"2020_08_17_01\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We had a Dodge in the shop that I had recently done work on before the dealership sold it. It came in about 500 miles after being sold with a complaint of an oil leak. When I opened the hood I quickly found that it was coming from the valve cover, which I had replaced the gasket on. I pulled the cover off and the gasket had a complete tear through it in that spot.
