Here&#8217;s how to replace them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4645\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_01.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_01\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Start by removing the belt cover in front of the engine. There are two 3\/8 bolts , one on each side.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4646\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_02.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_02\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Empty the gas tank or seal it with a plastic bag under the cap, and tilt the snow blower up onto the front end.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4647\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_03.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_03\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the six 3\/8 bolts holding the bottom cover.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4648\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_04.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_04\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The auger belt is on the bottom.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4649\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_05.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_05\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Roll the belt off the drive pulley.<\/p>\n\n<p>Release the two springs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4652\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_08.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_08\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pull the belt up and off the driven pulley. Install the new belt in the reverse order.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4653\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_09.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_09\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To replace the drive belt, pull the tensioner pulley by hand to remove tension from the belt, and remove the belt from the drive pulley.<\/p>\n\n<p>Loosen this bolt from the outside of the snow blower to allow the plate to move downwards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4657\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/2019_12_05_12.jpg\" alt=\"2019_12_05_12\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Push down on the driven pulley and pull the belt between the pulley and the drive wheel.
