Unfortunately, this wasn&#8217;t a car I actually got to work on, just one I saw in the parking lot, but this was the first time I&#8217;ve seen brakes so far gone that there&#8217;s no brake pad.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4258\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/2019_02_25_01.jpg\" alt=\"2019_02_25_01.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how long it takes to wear through the backing of a brake pad, which is a little less than a quarter of an inch thick, but I&#8217;m sure it has to make some noise and make the brakes not feel good.
