To combat this, several companies make wheel locks, which are a replacement lug nut with a special pattern that you need the key to remove.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4216\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/2019_01_14_01.jpg\" alt=\"2019_01_14_01\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Steel wheels, however, are not very expensive. A set of new steel wheels would cost less than a single OEM alloy wheel. Because of that, I don&#8217;t know why anybody bothers putting wheel locks on steel wheels.
