I quickly pulled over and opened the hood to find that my serpentine belt had gotten thrown off the pulleys.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4008\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/2018_07_16_01.jpg\" alt=\"2018_07_16_01.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Checking the pulleys I found that the tensioner pulley would not turn at all. I bought a new pulley and when I removed the old one I found what had happened.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4009\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/2018_07_16_02.jpg\" alt=\"2018_07_16_02\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the pulley seized, the belt just started melting or grinding through the plastic pulley until it finally fell off.
