To do this I had to remove the dashboard, which is a long, tedious job, even though I&#8217;ve done it a couple times already. This one took a little longer because the car had several aftermarket accessories wired in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3974\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2018_06_21_01.jpg\" alt=\"2018_06_21_01.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There was so much wiring packed behind the trim. I could see multiple bundles of extra wiring from what was inside. It took a while but I eventually figured out that most of it was an aftermarket alarm system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3975\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2018_06_21_02.jpg\" alt=\"2018_06_21_02.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was extremely helpful that the car had been traded in before I began the job, which meant I could just cut out all of the extra wiring.
