Sometimes they&#8217;re repairable, like with the rusted out <a href=\"http:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/2016\/06\/16\/1997-honda-civic-subframe-replacement\/\">subframe on my 96 Civic<\/a>. Other times <a href=\"http:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/2017\/06\/22\/another-one-bites-the-rust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it&#8217;s the floorboards<\/a> or other structure, which really aren&#8217;t worth repairing a lot of times.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3723\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/2017_12_14_01.jpg\" alt=\"2017_12_14_01.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This Honda Pilot was far beyond repair. One of the mounting points for the rear subframe is almost completely rusted out, leaving the left side of the subframe basically just hanging by the shock absorber.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3724\" src=\"https:\/\/mechanicalmalarkey.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/2017_12_14_02.jpg\" alt=\"2017_12_14_02\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was towed in because the owner was told by another mechanic that it was unsafe to drive, and I would have to agree.
